Purpose of the job
- Work on the development and implementation of advanced coating processes for our current and future product portfolio, in close collaboration with R&D project managers, business development managers, product & application managers, strategy managers and lab managers within the Hydrogen team.
- Need to work from Belgium, in close contact with the hydrogen team and laboratory
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new coating processes in our portfolio for electrochemical systems such as PEM & AEM electrolyzers, based on prioritized actions to ensure milestones of the project will be achieved.
- Develop, standardise and/or evaluate new coating technologies for future PTL-based products.
- Support in the industrialisation of coating methods which includes quality control and process optimisation.
- Build-up external knowledge network, and collaboration with third-parties (universities, research institutes)
- Work in close contact with the legal team to define IP strategy on new product development, and follow-up on patent from competition
- Collaborate closely with R&D managers and product & application managers and align process development according to requirements for product development.
Skills and competencies
- PhD degree in electrocatalysis / electrochemistry / material science / material engineering / process engineering or any relevant field for the application
- Experience in a technical position within the field of electrolysis
- Sound knowledge in PTL requirements with regards to mechanical strength, coatings and degradation.
- Experience with wet chemical or vacuum based coating technologies (slot-die, PVD, CVD, ALD,...)
- Strong focus on testing requirements with regards to accelerated stress testing of electrolyser components.
- Team-oriented and performance/results oriented
- Strong communication skills
