Hydrogen Laboratory Engineer - Norway

This business specializes in high-performance PEM electrolysers for large scale green hydrogen production. Their patented technology allows their electrolysers to operate more efficient and at higher current densities than any other electrolyser technology on the market. We are seeking an ambitious and passionate engineer that can help to maintain and further build their laboratory infrastructure used for the production and testing of their PEM electrolysers.

Job description:

As a laboratory engineer, you will be part of a team of experienced researchers and engineers developing, constructing, and testing electrolysers. The work includes maintenance, troubleshooting, fixing, and documenting all the equipment within the R&D facility. This requires detailed planning and organization from your part in order to maximize operational time. You will also assist other researchers and engineers in a wide variety of ongoing research projects and initiatives, making sure the experimental setup is fully functional and safe, and that the necessary measurement equipment is calibrated. You will also have a crucial role in maintaining and improving HSE and 5S standards. They also plan to design and construct their own electrolyser test stations, in this work you will be responsible for ordering parts, and constructing and commissioning this new equipment. 

You should expect some travelling, both domestically and abroad. Main purpose of the traveling would be to accompany and participate in the commissioning of commercial systems in the field at customer sites.

Duties and responsibilities: 
•    Maintenance, troubleshoot, and fixing all equipment in the lab, electrolyser test stations, clean room, DI-water system, gas analysis equipment, potentiostats, etc. 
•    Calibration of equipment and documentation
•    Contribute to maintaining and improve on HSE and 5S standards
•    Participate in the design, construct and commission in-house electrolyser test stations 
•    Assist and participate in the commissioning of commercial systems out on the field

Qualifications and requirements:         
•    Experience within maintaining, trouble shooting and fixing commercial electrolyser tests stations such as Horiba fuelcon and/or Greenlight.
•    Experience working in hydrogen laboratory and good knowledge of its HSE requirements.
•    Hands-on person with experience with building complete systems, mechanical assembly of parts, Swagelock, sensors, leak tests, electrical and software.
•    Knowledge in CAD design is a plus.
•    Excellent English and Norwegian written and verbal communication skills.
•    Bachelor or Masters in engineering, mechanical, material or similar.
•    Candidate should have strong organisational skills, be self-motivated and enjoy working in a team environment.
•    Capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work are essential for this role.
