The Operations Engineer, Change Management will be responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring the global operating processes that ensure all changes to the operating status of the data centres are managed, approved, and has risk mitigation measures that ensure no impact to the operational status of the sites. Change management is a key business process that ensures high availability as well as driving continuous improvement by learning from incidents and errors. The scope of change management covers all aspects of the operational service from health and safety to project implementation as well as day to day operational maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new, and upcoming projects to ensure appropriate consideration is given to risk mitigation, activity planning and timing as well as customer communication.
- Ensure operational teams in country adopt and support change management processes.
- Working with site teams, specifically site engineering managers, facility managers and facility shift managers provide technical support and direction to ensure the best operational practices are adopted effectively.
- Drive a culture of continuous learning to eliminate failures in control systems.
- Interface with group delivery teams to ensure compliance with change management processes where their activities impact site operations.
- Drive a quality service into the heart of operational engineering activities. Strive to continuously improve the quality of building management systems and reduce impact of incidents related to operational services for customers.
- Review and develop all aspects of Global Switch's engineering policies and procedures related to data centre operations. Research and deploy the best in class approaches for modern maintenance and operational strategies. Leverage technology developments to enhance our understanding and efficient operation of equipment.

You bring strong practical knowledge of mechanical management strategies and a passion for driving engineering excellence. You actively promote mechanical engineering best practices and champion a culture of Continuous Improvement. Your communication style is clear, concise, and consistent, enabling you to effectively engage with stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into actionable outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Formal tertiary qualification in an engineering, mechanical or controls discipline
- Experience in managing critical systems maintenance
- Recent proven experience managing electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring to develop effective use of asset management systems
- Member of a recognised professional body for engineering
