We are looking for a resourcefulness engineer to join this rapidly growing development team based in Paris, France.
The main responsibilities will be:
• Setting up and fully instrumenting their electrolyzer. This includes the choice and implementation of sensors and controllers and the acquisition/processing of data with the aim of documenting the operating conditions and then optimizing performance.
• Support the R&D team in electrode development. This includes the choice/characterization, of materials and potentially their manufacturing process.
• Carry out the catalytic experiment and investigate the stability of the new system
• Propose and develop new R&D strategies
• Benchmark existing technologies and performed technical and economic analysis
• Collaborate with internal business leaders to develop strategic product technology roadmaps including long-term technology capabilities and deliver them to the market
• Publish reports and present modelling results on a regular basis
• Manage multiple projects and deliver in a timely manner
• Routinely document finding and communicate through formal technical reports or other established formats
REQUIREMENTS
An MEng or PhD in chemistry or chemically related sciences, coupled with experience in the design and fabrication of flow or batch electrolysers, and a very good understanding of electrochemistry. Capability and confidence in synthetic chemistry are also essential, with evidence of experience in the rational design of materials required in the application.
The ideal candidate has the following skills and expertise:
• At least 4 years of experience in the field of electrochemistry, in particular, water oxidation, hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, batteries (Fuel cell, Redox flow battery)
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, interested in building up a new device
• Experience in the field of electrode manufacturing
• Ability to learn new application areas with minimal guidance
• Highly motivated and a team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Written and oral professional English level required
