Job description
As a Commissioning Engineer you will have the responsibility for the installation, commissioning, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing of their MW containerized electrolysers and industrial scale equipment, mostly at customer sites. This includes performing these activities on equipment and software supplied directly by the business and supervision of installation and commissioning activities of their suppliers and subcontractors. The Commissioning Engineers provide technical guidance and are expected to maintain and continuously improve technical equipment knowledge.
Traveling is to be expected in this role, both domestically and abroad.
Duties and responsibilities
Within your role, you will be expected to
- Attend and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at suppliers and customers premises whenever required.
- Prepare and maintain Mechanical Completion (MC) and Commissioning plans for equipment within the business scope.
- Follow-up suppliers and subcontractors for MC, preservation, and final delivery.
- Ensure that a quality system (QS) and health, safety and environmental (HSE) aspects are thoroughly assessed, planned, implemented, and followed up for all MC and Commissioning activities within the business scope.
- Plan, prepare, and execute Commissioning & Start-up activities on a multi-disciplinary level in collaboration with the EPC Contractor and/or Final Customer.
- Handover high-quality as-built markups to the Engineering team and suppliers for production of the final project documentation.
- Prepare and take responsibility for the handover of projects to the Final Customer and obtaining Provisional Acceptance and Final Acceptance Certificates.
- Follow up activities at the construction site, coordinate, and execute multi-disciplinary punch inspections in collaboration with the EPC Contractor and/or Final Customer.
- Participate in Sales and Engineering Design Reviews to provide feedback about constraints of Commissioning activities and necessary enhancements.
- Provide input to technical reports and suggest improvements.
Qualifications and requirements
- MSc or BSc in Automation or Electro, alternatively Mechanical Engineering. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
- Experience with Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Start-up in multidisciplinary engineering projects with demanding EPC contractors and Final Customers.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Norwegian and English, verbally and written.
- Aptitude to work in a team seeing other disciplines needs and dependencies while building collaborative, win-win relationships.
- Motivated for travelling and experiencing different cultures.
- Performance-oriented and able to drive work processes following complex procedures and coordinate activities with subcontractors under challenging conditions.
- Knowledge of HSE, FSE, and Ex requirements.
- Experience with Siemens S7 and/or TIA platform would be an advantage.
- Driver’s license, Class B, is a plus.
